Description The Minute Book of the charitable foundation, Chevrah li-Gemiluth Chasadim (``Compagnia della Carita e Morte``) is the oldest ``pinkes`` preserved in the Jewish community of Rome (1559-1586), dating only a few years after the establishment of the Ghetto. The rivalry between the ``Italiani``, the old stock of the Roman Jewish population, and the recent immigrants from the Iberian Peninsula and North Africa, was exacerbated during this period.
