About:
Eliezer Bashan was born in 1925 in Budapest and immigrated to Israel in 1935. A Professor since 1989, he teaches in the Department of Jewish History of Bar-Ilan University. He has published ten books and 152 articles on the history and society of the Jews in the Middle East during the Ottoman Period, and North Africa until the 19th century.
