Prof. Shifra Baruchson Arbib is Head of the``Department of Information Science`` in Bar Ilan University.She specializes in the history and sociology of communication. Her book Books and Readers – The Reading Interests of Italian Jews at the Close of the Renaissance, was published in 1993 by Bar Ilan University Press and was awarded the Zalman Shazar -President of Israel Prize (1993) (French translation: Paris ,C.N.R.S 2001). Prof Baruchson Arbib developed a unique field of study ``Social Information Science`` She specializes also in Info-Ethics and acts as a member in international organizations and journal in this field.
