About: Professor Ora R. Schwarzwald has written books and many scientific articles on Hebrew and Ladino. She is an associate member of the Hebrew Language Academy. Her book Grammar and Reality in the Hebrew Verb (1881) is a sociolinguistic study that describes the pronunciation of the consonants p, b, k, the Arabicized pronunciation and the pronunciation of the verb patterns and the tenses in Modern Hebrew by 360 students of various ages from deprived and from well based populations. The differences between the populations and the age groups prove that there are great discrepancies between them, and that formal learning improves their performance.
