Harold Fisch

Harold Fisch was Professor of English at Bar-Ilan University, and served as rector from 1968-1971. He was awarded the Israel Prize for the Study of Literature in 2000. He died in 2001. Among his publications: The Dual Image (1959); Jerusalem and Albion (1964); Hamlet and the Word (1971); S.Y. Agnon (1975); The Zionist Revolution (1978); A Remembered Future: A Study in Literary Mythology (1984); Poetry with a Purpose (1988); Shirat Miqra: Biblical Poetics and Interpretation (1993); New Stories for Old: Biblical Patterns in the Novel (1998); The Biblical Presence in Shakespeare, Milton, and Blake: A Comparative Study (1999); Divine Contradictions: Judaism and the Language of Paradox (2001).
